driverless in-vehicle experience
Optimus Ride collaborated with Microsoft to accelerate the development and deployment of self-driving vehicles around the world. The Optimus "Virtual Ride Assistant" (VRA) enhances your self-driving ride by providing dynamic interactions between riders, the vehicle and the remote assistance team. The VRA provides audio-visual tools for riders to be informed of the system, request changes in destination or routing, and to contact Optimus Ride's remote assistance system.
I led mechanical design, sensor and electrical integration of an in vehicle experience, enabling a driverless service for Optimus Ride’s AV.
Developed UI/UX workflow of a driverless service through brainstorms, user research and competitor analysis
Took initial concept through to implementation, working with various manufacturing methods to design structural mounts, cosmetic enclosures, and electrical enclosures. MFG methods include welding, 3D printing (SLS, SLA, FDM), sheet metal, CNC, urethane casting
Managed timelines and cross functional work across EE, industrial design, systems, and software ICs
